I was an early reader and decided to become a writer before hitting high school. I spent a year in Germany during college, then a year in France a few years later, as a teaching assistant in a lycée. After that came a 20-year career in the language school business, first as a teacher, then as school manager and salesman of language training. A few years ago I started writing again, and in early 2011 finished my first novel, Doing Max Vinyl. I enjoyed writing it so much that I quit my job at the language school in order to devote all my time to writing.  Now I’m working on my second book, a sequel to Doing Max Vinyl.

When I’m not writing, I do a lot of reading, and sometimes I cook for our family.  I have three kids, and my wife and I sometimes help them with their homework or go with them to their sports events.

I like being an independent author, because I know that my book can be downloaded easily anywhere in the world, and because it’s very cheap.  I also like promoting my book, because it means puts me in direct contact with other writers and with readers.  My promoting includes my blog, Twitter and Facebook.  Follow me on Twitter or Facebook for the latest news.

DOING MAX VINYL

Max Vinyl is a computer recycling king in Waukegan, near Chicago. When his environmentalist girlfriend, Tris Berrymore, catches him dumping old computer junk ten miles out in Lake Michigan, Max gets a taste of her violent side. Even his ex-wife, Ginger, isn’t going to save him this time.

Meanwhile two of Max Vinyl’s brawny enforcers manage to provoke Annie Ogden, just back from four years fighting in Iraq — bad idea! Going after these thugs draws Annie into the world of Max Vinyl’s phony recycling operation as well.

With each passing day, the pounding Max Vinyl takes from Tris Berrymore, Annie Ogden, Ginger and others becomes more intense and relentless. This wild and hilarious ride with a trio of strong, intelligent women bent on satisfaction and revenge is guaranteed to make you laugh till you cry.

Frederick’s Cause:

I’m a contributor to the world wildlife fund (WWF: http://www.worldwildlife.org/home-full.html), because I believe the environment needs to be preserved for future generations.  That’s why a percentage of the proceeds from all my book sales go to the WWF.

World Wildlife Fund Vision:

We seek to save a planet, a world of life. Reconciling the needs of human beings and the needs of others that share the Earth, we seek to practice conservation that is humane in the broadest sense. We seek to instill in people everywhere a discriminating, yet unabashed, reverence for nature and to balance that reverence with a profound belief in human possibilities. From the smallest community to the largest multinational organization, we seek to inspire others who can advance the cause of conservation.

We seek to be the voice for those creatures who have no voice. We speak for their future. We seek to apply the wealth of our talents, knowledge, and passion to making the world wealthier in life, in spirit, and in living wonder of nature.
